Date Difference

Count calendar or business days.

Tool settings

How to use & example
  1. Choose a start date and an end date.
  2. Choose calendar or business days, optionally enter holidays, and choose whether to include the end date.
  3. Calculate the difference in days and weeks.

Example

From January 1 to January 8 there are 7 days, or exactly 1 week. Including the end date gives 8 days.

Public holidays are not loaded automatically. Enter the holidays that apply to your location or organization. Business-day results use the selected dates, not hours, time zones or a legal deadline calendar.

Questions

Are weekends and holidays included?

Calendar mode includes all days. Business-day mode excludes Saturdays, Sundays, and the holiday dates you enter. No country-specific holidays are assumed.

Does daylight saving time affect the count?

No. Dates are compared as calendar dates using UTC, so a daylight saving clock change does not add or remove a day.
