How to use & example
  1. Paste the original and revised text, or load UTF-8 text files.
  2. Choose line, word, or character comparison. Optionally normalize whitespace.
  3. Compare, inspect highlighted changes, and download the change report or patch.

Example

Comparing “Meet on Monday.” with “Meet on Tuesday.” highlights Monday as removed and Tuesday as added in word mode.

The combined input limit is 50,000 characters. Whitespace normalization changes the text before comparison and also affects the exported patch. For very different or long documents, start with line mode.

Questions

What does whitespace normalization change?

When enabled, spaces and tabs within each line are collapsed and line ends are trimmed before comparison. The displayed diff and exported patch both use the normalized versions.

Is HTML or code executed?

No. Both inputs and the diff are rendered as plain text. Pasted HTML is displayed as text and never inserted as executable markup.

What are the size limits?

The two inputs together may contain up to 50,000 characters. Very complex comparisons are stopped after a time or edit limit. Try line mode or a smaller section if the comparison cannot finish.
